All smiles with Philippine Airlines
In my recent business trip to Singapore & Chennai last July 4th, I booked my airticket via Philippines Airlines (for the SG leg) because of the ideal flight schedule (I had to take into consideration my connecting flight to Chennai via a different airline). I did my usual online check-in to avoid the long queue in the airport. I always have this impression with Philippines Airlines that their flights always get delayed (based on the experience of my friends), hence, I was expecting that my flight will be delayed as well.
I arrived at the airport and proceeded to the check-in counter to drop my baggage and because my layover is about 10 hours in Singapore, I told the ground staff that my luggage will be "tagged along" (I am not sure if this was the correct airline term). The ground staff who attended to me was very friendly and smiling at all times and proactively placed a priority tag on my bag. She told me that she will be placing a priority tag on my bag so it will not get lost in transit. This made me very happy because without me asking for it, she knew that as a passenger, the least thing you want to happen is for your luggage to get lost. So this is the first that I got impressed with PAL's service. Too bad I wasn't able to get the name of the ground staff who assisted me.
Then, I proceeded to the usual airport procedure and waited to the gate until boarding time. Then the announcement came that our flight is now ready for boarding.To my surprise, the boarding process was on time, very organize and went very smoothly. In addition to that, the aircraft took off on time at exactly 7:30pm and arrived Singapore at exactly 11:10pm. On board, you will feel the filipino hospitality with flight attendants being very helpful and accommodating.
These experiences changed my impression with Philippine Airlines. I have become one of the promoters to use PAL if you want a hassle-free and worry-free travel. Indeed PAL is your home in the sky.
