Foodie: The Smoking Joint

Location: 308 Aguirre Ave. BF Homes Paranaque
Store hours: Weekdays 4:20pm to 11:00pm/ Weekends: 12:00nn to 12:00mn

Last weekend, we drove all the way to Paranaque just to try this new restaurant – The Smoking Joint. The restaurant can be found easily as it is just along Aguirre St beside Lydia’s lechon. The place is quite small, I can’t imagine how full it is during lunch and dinner times. We arrived there at around 1:30pm so the place is already empty.  The place was quite hot at that time, I am not sure if they have problems with air conditioning or probably we were just staying by the window in the afternoon heat.

We ordered two Smoked Cheese Steaks, two Beef Briskets and one Pulled Pork. The Smoked Cheese Steak is made up of a toasted Panini bread, beef brisket with a little of onions and corn, topped with lots of cream cheese. The cream cheese compliments the taste of the beef brisket however, I was actually expecting the panini bread to be soft like a deli sandwich. The beef brisket was thinly sliced and very tender with the sauce making it very tasty.  The Pulled pork on the other hand is like shredded pork flakes and goes well with the sauce. Serving is just good for one person.

Smoked Cheese Steak, PhP 180
Beef Brisket (PhP 190) with Smoked seasoned rice (PhP 50)
The service was quite fast and the staffs were very accommodating. As for the price of the food, we paid a total bill of 1200 pesos including the rice and the desert I ordered.

I read in the reviews that their Ribs are quite good, probably the next time I go back, I will try that but not too soon.

Overall, we were satisfied with the taste of the food. We will be back to explore the menu.
